Fort would be proud. Maybe.

At the following link, courtesy of the cool guys over at Disinfo, the apparent science behind why people don't believe in science is explored. Interestingly enough Fort was famously against science. Well at least what he considered the religion of science. As a matter of fact the point in him writing his landmark 1919 book The Book of the Damned, opened with this powerful statement.
A procession of the damned. By the damned, I mean the excluded. We shall have a procession of data that Science has excluded.
Of course the article seems to make a very dim approach to those that would question science. Whereas that was Fort's whole schtick. Down right making a mockery of science at some points in his books. When you come right down to it though, Fort was still seeking answers. I doubt that if science hadn't thought so highly of it's own opinion he may have held in higher regards.

Either way the article is an interesting read even if I don't necessarily agree with the premise. So follow the link to check it out. Also let me know what you think about.
